Note that the last version, 2.90 TTF format, doesn't work well with OS X - it raises an error at import, and stuff won't line up. I think it's because it is antialiased, and the AA algorithm of macs is very different from that of Windows (OS X tries to respect shapes at the expense of crispness, Windows coerces the shapes into the pixel grid, at the expense of the designer's intention).
It may be worth trying it with Linux too if you experience rendering issues.
